CRYSTAL CAVE

Done with Maya, Substance Painter, After Effects

I was thinking of a story where our main character is exploring an uncharted territory, where there are ominous dinosaur bones at the cave entrance, yet she is unfazed by that. She continues to explore, heading inside the cave, where she is met with beautiful glowing crystals. 

For static background shots, I utilized render layers to render separate the character and the background to reduce the render time as well as the noise, especially for the final shot with with cave and the glowing crystals. They are then composited using After Affects. 

Assets are from Sketchfab. Did some minor adjustments to the Morpheus rig using Substance Painter.
